This year we are high-tailing it all over California selling all of our great re-purposed and refinished goods. We love to take something old – perhaps a tad past retro in some cases – and apply a bit of RUE magic and turn it into a must-have item for your home or office.
Most of of the items we create and re-do are one of a kind pieces; sometimes we duplicate the color scheme or the basic color idea of the piece if it was well-received, but we never make the same piece twice. Love it or hate it, one-of-a-kind is a great feeling to have in your home. How many times have you gone to a friends house or friend from work’s home to find they have the same mirror, coffee table, couch, sconces as you? Personally I hate it, and that is why I do what I do.
Over the years all my Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware pieces have been sold off with new applications of color and details to make room for vintage finds that I have refinished myself. Now, not everyone wants to do what I do, and that is fine. I love what I do and create, and I adore the fact you want it in your home or office. A win-win situation!
This Spring is all about earthy, muted tones of brown, ivory, blue, pink and peach. No super-girly pinks or super-boyish blues; think water, waves, sea glass, sand. We love the look and feel of a beach, whether it is on the coast of California, on the shores of Cape Cod or floating in the Riviera, the beach is cool, calm, serene and inviting. The Beach Chic look we love for Spring/Summer 2011 fits beautifully in everyone’s home, for it is not too masculine nor too feminine, it’s a perfect neutral. Also, great for a baby nursery – just a hint!
I hope you enjoy looking at all my designs, they are like precious birds I release into the world every weekend. I love the smiles my designs bring to those carrying or pushing them on carts to their cars to be taken home and put in the most perfect spot.
